Sip School Night III: ‘THE TEN CRUS OF BEAUJOLAIS’
INTRODUCING SIP SCHOOL NIGHT THREE: ‘THE TEN CRUS OF BEAUJOLAIS’
On Monday 9 November, Sera & Sune present the final night of Sip School, our three-part wine and dining series at Sune, Broadway Market, with Honey Spencer and Sarah Wright.
Night one challenged the myths. Night two put a winemaker at the table. Night three takes on a whole region: all ten crus of Beaujolais, tasted in one night.
TEN VILLAGES, ONE GRAPE
Beaujolais is one grape, Gamay, grown across ten crus, and no two of them taste the same. Granite, altitude and village tradition turn the same grape into ten different wines, from the light and floral to the dark and serious.
We'll taste all ten, travelling the region from Brouilly in the south to Saint-Amour in the north, glass by glass, with Honey and Sarah guiding the journey. Fast-paced, fun, and by the end of the night you'll have drunk the whole of Beaujolais.
READY FOR THE 19TH
Ten days later, Beaujolais Nouveau Day arrives, and with it Sune's legendary Nouveau party. Every guest at this night gets an invite to join the party on the 19th: so you'll walk in having tasted every corner of the region the Nouveau comes from, knowing exactly what you're celebrating.
THE FOOD
The food comes from Sune's kitchen, led by head chef Fabien Spagnolo, and for the final night it goes properly family-style: big, celebratory platters down the long table, made for sharing. Beaujolais is the wine for exactly this kind of eating, which is rather the point.
