Sera x Plates: An Evening with Alex Price

Plates is one of London’s most compelling restaurants — a serene, near-impossible reservation, where Kirk and Keeley Haworth are redefining what plant-based dining can be. But on this night, it is their Head of Wine, Alex Price, who takes centre stage.

Named among the top 50 sommeliers in the UK (39), Alex has spent the last decade shaping her craft across some of London’s most exacting rooms — from starting her career on the buying team at Annabel’s, to Beaverbrook and running the wine program for Ham Restaurants (Bar Crispin & Bistro Freddie), before finding a home at Plates.

For this special event, Alex opens Plates’ private development kitchen, a hidden studio near the restaurant, to lead us through an exploration of wine, and flavour. An incredibly intimate space, with just 16 seats and a private kitchen, this is not one to be missed.

Across the evening, Alex will explore the ritual of the aperitif, the interplay of bread and champagne, the power of umami and spice, the meatiness of mushrooms and why the sweetest thing isn’t always the best way to end.

Each pour, each small plate, is a window into how a sommelier sees the world.
Guests can expect six dishes, and six glasses of wine, with a few surprises woven in.

It is also Sera’s first night dedicated entirely to wine — and there is no one we would trust more to shape it.

Seats are extremely limited, and communal. Due to the nature of this one off event, we are unable to accommodate menu substitutions, or dietary restrictions.
