On Thursday 21 and Friday 22 May, Sera takes over the downstairs at A. Wong in Pimlico, for two nights of food, cocktails and the kind of Chinese cooking most of London doesn't get to eat. The food you want to eat on a Thursday or Friday night, cooked by the chef you'd never expect to be cooking it.

Andrew Wong is the first and only chef in the world to hold two Michelin stars for a Chinese restaurant outside of China. For these two nights, he turns his attention to the food of Chinese night markets - the dumplings, noodles and snacks people queue around the block for in Taipei, Hong Kong and Beijing. The difference is who is cooking them.

Andrew brings the same obsession with technique and ingredient that earned him his stars to dishes most restaurants treat as filler. Pork and prawn dumplings come with pork crackling and a black bean relish. Clear shrimp dumplings arrive with sweet chilli and a rice vinegar cloud. Two-star Spring rolls. The dessert is coconut ice cream, caviar, olive oil and pat chun vinegar.

The format matches the food. Thursday and Friday nights, downstairs at A. Wong, in the cocktail bar Andrew designed with house drinks built around the regions of China. Loud, fun, and a bit boozy. The ticket includes the full seven-dish snack menu and two cocktails of your choice.

A two-Michelin-starred chef cooking a chicken sweetcorn soup, on a Friday night, in his own bar, is exactly where you need to be.
