Sera Abroad: Sweden 2026
Three Days on Sweden’s West Coast
Overview
This three-day trip along Sweden’s west coast is built around one of the most exciting live-fire festivals in the Nordics, alongside two destination restaurants and a vineyard visit.
The weekend begins with full-day access to Holy Smoke BBQ Heyday Festival, followed by a visit to Kullabergs Vingård for a guided tasting and light lunch. The journey concludes with two standout dinners: Fyr and Signum, a two-Michelin-star restaurant with a Michelin Green Star set within the lakeside Hällsnäs Hotel.
Across the trip, we stay in three hotels chosen for their setting and comfort, travelling north and ending near Gothenburg.
This trip is hosted and in collaboration with A Chef Abroad

The Culinary Journey
Holy Smoke BBQ Heyday Festival
Holy Smoke is not a food fair. It is Scandinavia’s most influential live-fire gathering, bringing together leading chefs from across the Nordics to cook entirely over wood and flame. Informal in atmosphere but uncompromising in quality, it has become a defining event in modern Nordic barbecue culture.
Festival alumni and expected guests include: Nicolai Tram of Knystaforsen, Niklas Ekstedt, Alouette, Barang, Tumült, Barabba, Dreyer´s Streetfood, RedHook Tavern NYC, Vyn, Lyden Distillery, Martin´s BBQ Nashville, Balderdash, Gasoline Grill, Lillie´s Q Chicago, Esse and many more....
Fyr
Fyr was created by the husband and wife team behind Stockholm’s former two Michelin star Gastrologik. After years at the forefront of Nordic fine dining, they built something more elemental and personal, rooted in fire, seasonality, and landscape. It reflects the evolution of modern Nordic cuisine beyond the structure of the traditional tasting menu.
Signum
Holding two Michelin stars and a Michelin Green Star, Signum sits within the lakeside setting of Hällsnäs. The dining room overlooks forest and water, and the cooking mirrors that stillness. Technique is exacting, produce is local and carefully sourced, and sustainability is structural rather than decorative. As the closing dinner of the trip, Signum delivers refinement and clarity at the highest level of Scandinavian gastronomy.
