Introducing Hoppers 2.0 - An evening with Karan Gokani

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026

Tea Building, 56 Shoreditch High St, London E1 6JJ

£55 (inc service charge)

Ten years after opening their first restaurant in Soho, Hoppers enters a new phase.

Hoppers Shoreditch is not simply a new opening. It marks a clear evolution of the restaurant, shaped by travel, research, and a broader exploration of the influences that have long informed the way the team cooks. As co-founder Karan Gokani puts it, “This opening marks a very exciting new chapter for us.”

While Sri Lanka remains central to Hoppers’ identity, this new menu looks further across South India, bringing new regions, ideas, and inspiration into focus.

“Our journeys through South India have opened up a world of flavours, traditions, and stories that have deeply inspired this new menu.”

For this early access dinner, Sera members will be among the first to experience this new direction. Guests will try dishes created specifically for the Shoreditch opening, alongside the much loved Hoppers favourites that have defined the restaurant for the past decade.

The menu takes inspiration from five culinary heartlands of South India. Chettinad, Madurai, Bangalore, Kochi, and Chennai. Each region brings its own traditions and ways of cooking, interpreted through the Hoppers lens and brought together for the first time.

The evening is hosted by Karan himself, who will be present throughout the night. Guests will experience the menu with insight into the thinking behind it, and why Shoreditch represents an evolution for Hoppers as it moves into its next decade.

This is early access in the truest sense. A first look at where Hoppers is heading next.

This experience will be served family style, as it's best enjoyed across the subcontinent. Like all Sera events, you may be seated with other members on the day. No dietary or menu substitutions for this one off experience
