If I had a...Hong Kong Speakeasy with Andrew Wong
Step into the vibrant world of 1930s Hong Kong on October 17th, 18th, and 19th as we partner with chef patron Andrew Wong, to transform the two-Michelin-starred A. Wong into a Hong Kong speakeasy.
For three nights only, you’ll be welcomed to The Forbidden City Bar, a secret gem tucked beneath the A. Wong dining room, offering a one-of-a-kind cocktail and late night snack dining experience.
Chef Andrew Wong is British born of Chinese heritage, who has been immersed in the world of restaurants since childhood. His grandfather, who moved to London as a Chinese refugee, owned a restaurant in Chinatown, and his father was the first Chinese publican in the UK. In 1985, his parents opened a Cantonese restaurant in Pimlico, now the present location of his restaurant A. Wong.
A. Wong (named after his parents Albert and Annie) opened in 2012, was awarded its first Michelin star in 2017, and in 2021, it was awarded its second star, making it the first Chinese restaurant outside of Asia to achieve this honour.
On the 17th, 18th and 19th of October, we invite you to immerse yourself in the dynamic energy and intrigue of a Hong Kong speakeasy, where guests connect over hand crafted cocktails and a Michelin-level snack menu inspired by the flavours of Hong Kong. In this intimate space, hidden from the bustling streets of Pimlico and Victoria, you’ll find yourself mingling with fellow guests, swapping stories, and indulging in a cocktail journey unlike any other.
A ticket includes two cocktails of your choice, and Andrew's Hong Kong snack menu.
Please note that seating is communal, offering the opportunity to engage with other guests. Due to the unique nature of this event, we are unable to accommodate dietary restrictions.
